The American Legion Post (Sipe-Peterson Post 44) in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona was established on May 13, 1935. Post 44 serves 700 veterans and has about 1000 members including Legion, Auxiliary, and Sons of the Legion.
We are a completely non-smoking Post, although an air-cooled, covered patio is available for smokers.
How do you join the post? These are the requirements and links for each group:
Legionnaire (Active duty) – Complete the application, show your military ID, pay your yearly dues
Legionnaire (Veteran) – Complete the application, submit a copy of your DD214, pay your yearly dues
Sons (All male descendants, adopted sons, and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who served honorably, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service) – Complete the application, submit a copy of your grandparent, parent DD214, pay your yearly dues
Auxiliary (1) grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion; and (2) grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of all men and women who served who, being a citizen of the United States at the time of their entry therein served on active duty in the Armed Forces of any of the governments associated with the United States during either eligibility periods and died in the line of duty or after honorable discharge; (3) to those women who of their own right are eligible for membership in The American Legion – Complete the application, submit a copy of the qualifying person, pay your dues
