I visited our volunteer bartender (Vinny Hamill) yesterday, Friday, August 14, to see how he is recovering. Vinny suffered two strokes… one on August 7 and a second on August 12. He is now at Honor Health Osborn Medical Center, where he will begin an extended rehabilitation program.
I’m happy to report that Vinny is in good spirits and wanted me to let the Post 44 membership know that he is on the road to recovery. He still has a way to go, and his rehabilitation may continue for the next couple of weeks, but he is remaining positive and determined.
Post 44 has also taken up a collection to help Vinny with incidental expenses during his recovery.
Vinny is missed by all of us at Post 44. Many of us know him as the positive, friendly guy behind the bar who always had a smile and was happy to see you. We look forward to having him back with us when he is ready. Until then, please keep Vinny in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery.
